WYHS Journal Dinner

The WYHS Annual Journal Dinner that took place this past Sunday evening, November 6, was truly a night to remember. Over 220 WYHS supporters gathered together at King David Hall in Deerfield Beach, B'nai Torah Congregation to pay tribute to Mrs. Ora Lee Kanner, Mrs. Jessica Schultz and Mrs. Lorys Stiel.

Following a delicious buffet dinner catered by Eli and Shula Amsalem of Express Catering, WYHS President Jeffrey Harris delivered welcoming remarks about our honorees and thanked the chairs and various other groups of people whose efforts made the evening a great success.

For the very first time, the presentations to the honorees were pre-recorded by video.  Tributes to the honorees were given by Dr. Laura Becker, Rabbi Kenneth Brander, Mr. Adam Dobrick, Mrs. Carla Greer, Rabbi Benjy Horowitz, Mr. Shimmie Kaminetsky, Mrs. Jessica Schultz, Mrs. Lorys Stiel and Rabbi Perry Tirschwell.  In addition, several WYHS alumni including, Raquel Amram ('07), Yogev Berdugo ('01), Zev Kilstein ('04), Bryan Lieber ('04), and Holly Hampton Seidenfeld ('09) spoke about the honorees.

All of the speakers spoke eloquently about the tremendous contributions our honorees made to WYHS, specifically in the early years of the school, and how appreciative we all are to the honorees for bringing WYHS to where it is today.  Following each of the video presentations, each of the honorees spoke.

Thank you to the chairs of the event, Deena & Steven Borzak, Sheri & David Dennis and Judy & Steven Schultz, as well as all of the members of the committee, for a job well done.  Thanks as well to the 66 members of the Tribute Committee and all who were in attendance for making this year's dinner a tremendous success.
